A 6 mile railway tunnel through the continental divide, built to bypass what was once 27 miles of difficult track, some above timberline, over Corona Pass. The route was mapped out back in 1902. It is the 6th longest tunnel in the world and took 4 years to build. The first train passed through the tunnel in 1928.
