A dream unfulfilled. In original design from the era of the Great Depression, a series of pools were to represent the main geological periods during which the rocks of the Rockies were formed. Cascades of water – “The Cascades of Time” – would connect these pools made from rocks of the given age. Funding prevented full realization of the plan, but the gardens are lovely. I was surprised how much was blooming in mid-September!
