I miss the old diners! Growing up in Hunterdon County we would regularly go to the Circle Diner in Flemington, N.J. A Greek family owned the diner and the menu was extensive. The food was always good, the family would always greet you and everyone went there after dates, dances, shows, games, etc. My husband played in a big band and after a job we would all go to the diner for breakfast at 1 or 2 in the morning. What fond memories of simple pleasures shared with good friends. Unfortunately the diner is no longer there.

Hey, Vince, here's another shot, not by me, that reminds me of YOU! http://www.pbase.com/image/37476809 I really, really like this gallery. You are a busy guy! I'm sorry for being so evasive the past few months, but the truth is that my divorce took a little bit of a toll on me, and I am just now pulling myself up and brushing off the dust, which would (hopefully) explain the lack of photos I've been producing and perhaps even the subject matter. Notice that unlike your galleries, mine don't include too many people. And I AM a 'people lover'! The good news is that I'm feeling so MUCH better that I don't even believe it. Thank you, my friend for coming back, and for missing me in my absence. I was happy to see you didn't forget about me. Keep up your interesting and fun photographic and musical pursuits, my two very favorite pastimes.

Hi Vince, It was some of your diner shots that made me think about shooting some myself. My favorite diner is owned by a Greek lady, Rena. She ran the business and raised her kids by herself over the last 35 yrs. She also takes care of her elderly mother in her spare time. The picture of her with two of her grandsons is the one that needed major photoshop work to get the towel off the kid's head!!!! Sometimes I wonder if I even open my eyes and look before pressing the shutter! Thanks for your kind comments. The gentleman eating on the left was not real pleased with me taking pictures. Christy
