Sigurjon Isfeld of Gimli had a daughter named Aurora. She married Ian Innes-Taylor the brother of Alan Innes-Taylor who went to the South Pole in 1933 with Admiral Richard Byrd. Alan supplied sled dogs to Byrd which he obtained from Sigurjon Isfeld in 1933. It seems that Sigurjon had a connection to the Innes-Taylor brothers due to his reputation for sled dogs. These images were provided by Aurora's Daughter Dee Snashall of Calgary. Quite an amazing story.
