High water in the Animas River

Trestle bridge near Silverton, CO

After heavy rainfall during the night, and it was still raining
when we left Silverton in the morning.
We got out of the train in several spots along the track
for shooting these nice 'rainy' pictures.

I really like this capture a great deal. Great clarity and mood. The heavy rain no doubt had an effect on the Animas but much of the time when I have been there it has been running stained. I know that there have been issues from the run off from old mines leaking into the Animas. Our present reduced clean water regulations being ordered by Washington are not helping for sure. VV

An excellent and different POV. This is a very unique image of this iconic train. ~V~

the river in full spate adds a sense of drama....astute grasp of the moment here..
