I've bought a Nikon. Strange but true. Me, a Nikon owner. I don't like Nikons! But, I wanted something just like my Pentax MX, but with aperture priority AE. Pentax never never made one. There's the K2, but they're near impossible to find, or the LX which is impossible to find at a sensible price. I wanted a proper shutter speed dial. I don't like the push button control of the ME Super and Super A. I nearly settled for a P30T but it lacks too many important features... no manual film speed settings, no DoF preview, no EV correction... it would never have worked out. So that meant straying from Pentax. Canon was out as the AE-1 is Shutter speed priority, and anyway, the FD mount is a dead end. I like the OM-2, but it lacks viewfinder info in manual mode. Nice viewfinder tho! Which left the Nikon FE, a camera I've always liked, but never actually wanted. I mean, Nikons are a bit weird. The lens mount is back to front and the incompatibility list for the famous F mount is as long as your arm. But then I saw Boon using one in an old re-run on TV and so, here I am with a nice old Nikon FE in lightly brassed black. It really is very nice, except for one tiny detail. I don't have any lenses for it! So please, if any of you Nikon types out there have an old 50mm AI or AIS kicking around that you'd like to donate to a Canon user who might just be about to see the light, send it this way!!
