Dec 16: Sunlight

I'm going to have a bit of a rant here. I like shooting with prime lenses, but where is Canon's 50mm equivalent lens for the crop sensor Canon DSLRS? Sigma make the 30mm f1.4 but it's way too big and way too expensive. And a Sigma. Canon offer their 28mmf1.8 or 35mm f2 but they're both full frame wide angle designs, and therefor a compromise. The 35mm f2 doesn't even have USM... So when I want to go out with just a normal prime on my 20D, I take the 24mm. Not ideal as it's: 1. a little too wide, 2, a full framewide angle (and therefor compromised) design, 3. Too slow at f2.8 and 4. Doesn't have USM. Come on Canon. Give us an EF-S 30mm f1.4 USM. It's 7 years since the D30 came out, it's about time we had a proper standard lans. If I had one of those I wouldn't have had to crop this quite so much.

Despite the difficulties, you've done a wonderful job :-)

I don't think I have any primes for my Canons... Perhaps this next year? Oddly, I tend to use the plastic kit lens that came with my rebel the most, even on my 30...

Every now and then, a good rant is needed. Spectacular shot.
