Jun 29: Book report

You might remember that back in March I said I'd finish all those part-read books. It's been going well. Book of Dave. Read. The Ancestor's Tale, finished. But this one, the bestselling 'The Haunted Rld' by Arl Gan is giving be trouble. Not that I don't agree with the him, it's just a load of... well, maybe it'll improve in chapter 3.

Carl Sagan - my vote for Millennium Man or Rennaisance Man if you prefer. Wonderful chap, and we need more people like this in the media (shame he is dead) to promote serious issues and to restore the balance away from cheap, sluttish ephemera like Paris Hilton. Have you read his novel 'Contact' ? Now Jodi Foster, she is a proper actress, not like most of these cheap tarts on the screen. Sagan and Foster, there is a good start for a dinner party. Leaving the soap box now to replenish the wine glass....

#....you said you'd stand by me
in the middle of chapter three
but you were up to your old tricks
in chapters four, five and six.....# so it may be good but don't bank on it lasting...

That is an excellent book. Seriously excellent. Carl Sagan made more sense than any 3 religious leaders combined.

I remember Carl Sagan on TV years ago. He came on at 8pm and the set immediately went off!

Much too serious for me for the summer.... I'm drifting into mystery novels by Robert B. Parker.
