Feb 27: Polaroid No.1
Black Telecaster in the dark.
This isn't how it is. The real Polaroid print is smaller, sharper, fits nicely in your hand. The black is somehow different. You can't turn this over and see that it's dark grey on the other side, because there isn't an other side to a digitised image. The real thing is just that. Real. Bendy and shiny. Unique. If I throw it on the fire, it's gone. It can't be endlessly copied or reprinted. The negative in the process destroyed itself to make the print. I've scanned it to show it to you, but the file of 1s and 0s now cached on you hard drive is not this polaroid. The real this is here, next to my keyboard. You can't see that.
