Feb 23: Verichrome?

I love the sticker on the inside of the Brownie. "Always INSIST on Kodak film". Not, For best results use... or Kodak recommends... No. INSIST! Heaven forbid that anyone would consider using Agfa film in their Kodak camera. The world would surely come to an end! But unlike most of Kodak's film formats, 120, is still widely available. Yippee!! But I see where I went wrong with my Brownie experiments. Verichrome? Hmmm... can't get it any more. I even asked. No, I had to use Fuji.
So what is Verichrome anyway? According to Kodak, it was "introduced in 1931 [to offer greater] latitude and finer grain than the KODAK NC (Non-Curling) Film that had been the standard since 1903" Cool eh? It seems it was Orthochromatic, (only sensitive to blue and green right). From reading the Brownie manual and from the sunny 16 rule, I reckon it must have been about ISO 50. Anyone know where to get ISO 50 Orthochomatic film in 120 size? I'm not going to insist on Kodak!
