Linda posted a music-hero picture yesterday, which got me on to this shot. There I was walking around the house playing annoyingly bad renditions of Red River Rock / Wooden Heart on the harmonica, when I thought I should do a pic of my Paul Jones ‘signature’ mini harmonica that Linda had secretly bought for me when we went to see him play. For the uninitiated, Jones is a fabulous blues harmonica player. Ex Manfred Mann, as well as various other bands, and current Radio 2 presenter. (In fact, I’m listening to his show as I type). But how to show how small this diminutive instrument is... how about I place it alongside my Hohner ‘Big River Harp’, a regular sized harmonica, itself only 4 inches long. The little one is less than an inch and a half long, yet perfectly playable. As long as you only need 8 notes...
