Much of Cornwall’s coast is jagged and rocky like this. Which explains why there have been so many ships wrecked here. Behind me while I made this shot was the front half of a fishing boat, wrecked and rusty. No sign of the stern part...
I was bought a copy ‘The Negative’ by Ansel Adams for Christmas. Suddenly I find my self taking readings from the rocks and the sky and placing tones into zones to arrive at my exposure. I’m not sure how relevant all this is in digital photography, but it’s fun, and the result spot on. I made just one exposure. Sure, I could have arrived at the same result in auto mode with an EV correction or bracketing, but where’s the fun in that? Oh, and yes, the horizon isn't level... must try harder next time...
BTW - this shot marks the completion of 2 years of PotD. I'm I stopping here? Hell no!
