In a couple of hours I'll be heading for LeMans for the famous 24hour race. I've been debating for weeks what photo gear to take with me. Several people have suggested I take *all* my cameras. Hmmm that would include 5 SLR bodies, 11 lenses, 2 rangefinders and a Box Brownie. Nice idea, but a bit on the heavy side.In the end, I've gone for this lot:
A few rolls of XP2, the EOS 50E and my three primes: 24f2.8, 50f1.8 and 100f2.
Why not the DSLR or the L zooms? Too heavy, too expensive, no access to a mains power source. The 50E + primes are light, fast and inconspicuous, the body cost less than my 500mb CF card, and the battery lasts about a year. I used the same kit last time, less the 24. You can see last years pics here. I'll be back posting on 15th - but don't expect to see many pictures of race cars... I leave that to the guys with press passes!
