Feb 23: Colour film

What better way to start a black & white themed week than with some colour film.

I picked up a copy of AP (Amateur Photographer) this morning. I'd heard that they'd given the new Sony 828 a bit of a slagging this week, and having seen the row it caused in the Sony forum of a certain well known photography site, I was intreagued. I have to say the examples in the mag reminded me of the output of Linda's old Fuji 1400. Kind of 'obviously digital' in the highlights. Didn't look good. Anyway, what was sellotaped to the cover? A roll of Fuji colour film. So here it is, in all its black & white glory, and trying very hard not to look digital.

Excellent idea, color in B&W.

Smiling at Lara's comment as well as a chuckle of irony at posting blk/white (done very well) with color film.

I have 4-5 rolls in my freezer, been there for I would guess two years!

Very lateral, David...

I remember taking pix of film bixes in Photog class back in the day to practice DOF & detail . . . film needs a good controversy to bring it back to the forefront. For what, I don't know . .LOL! Ah, I still return to film now'n then. I actually keep my ol' Pentax loaded (with twinkies!) JUST KIDDING!

So that's what film looks like. I had forgotten. LOL

Very nice... just reminds me of the 'old' black & white photos... you know, in the olden days... horse drawn carriages, cobbled streets, film cameras?!

Excellent job with the DOF! Yea, that 828 just doesn't seem to be holding up well at all. When it was first announced I thought about getting one so I'd have higher resolution photos for my infrared (and hand my two year old 707 over to my husband), but once I saw the samples, I chucked that idea. Love this shot as your week opener! -- angela :)

Keep it sealed in plastic. Might be worth something some day. Nice depth of field control and subject. Gets a vote.
