Feb 20: An evening out

...at our favourite local restaurant, The Old Thai House. We've been there several times, but on the last two occasions have been thrilled to have a table upstairs, where they've filled the room with gold. Statues, ornaments, tables, all in gold, some of which you can see here. The whole room positively glows, and while you eat, they put on displays of traditional Thai dancing. It's like being a member of some exclusive club!

The light is so, er, 'golden', that it's way off what the poor little cameras white balance can handle. So I shot this in raw mode, and blended two seperate conversions in PS, one at the 'tungsten' WB setting, the other with a WB chosen from the candles behind Linda, to try to give a natural look.

Having now witnessed Linda, I can tell you that David did not use any PS trickery to achieve such a golden smile:-)
