Problem - the AAA powered Maglites are next to useless.
Solution - convert to LED illumination.
But - an white LED requires about 3.8 volts and an AAA only supplies 1.5v
So - take a stack of 1.55v alkaline button cells and make a spacer with an in-built resistor to limit the current to 30mA.
Result - more light and better battery life.
