We have a see-thru acryic crown board* in the hive so we can check what the Mildreds are up to without disturbing them. I've been checking them daily since we installed them on Tuesday. I need to check the syrup level in the feeder and see how they're doing to comb building. They don't seem interested in either, but they're busy bringing pollen and nectar in so I'll leave them to do their thing.
*the crown board is an inner roof which forms the top of what the bees think of as home. The outer roof sits above this and keeps out the weather.
