Over the winter, some Ivy had pulled down a small hawthorn tree at the bottom of the field. In February I took a saw to it and added the thick bits to the woodpile. It'll be ready to burn winter 2011-12. But in the meantime, these ivy berries at the twiggy end of the ex-tree have turned the most wonderful colours.
