The garden gate had been secured with a sliding bolt, which was a real pain, especially when unloading the car after a trip to the garden centre. It's taken a couple of years to finally fitting a proper gate latch. I added a closing spring and feel pretty pleased with myself. The action hero? One of those things that just appears once in a while. Probably lost decades ago and resurfaced just in time to witness the new latch.
