As I mentioned yesterday, I have some new specs. My first ever pair of reading glasses. But I've already discovered that they also make excellent focussing specs. Y'see, I've always had trouble focussing my Rolleicord. Looking down on the ground glass screen and trying to judge when a fuzzy thing is less fuzzy and squinting through the pop-up magnifier isn't fun. I'd considered a replacement screen, but they're expensive, and in any case, they only make the screen brighter, not clearer. But with the new specs, wow, what a difference! Not only can I see when the subject is in focus, I can clearly see what isn't in focus. And those tiny little engraved numbers on the controls, easy to see now. Fantastic! If only my scanner still worked...
With apologies to Asterope* who's beautiful TLR self portrait I've crudely copied here.
