My Oly 35RC has been playing up. Intermittently not firing on Auto mode. It was driving me crazy, locking up just at the decisive moment. GRRRR. So I took it apart, worked out what was wrong. It's a corroded switch. It's a really clever bit of electro / mechanical design. Not an IC or chip in there anywhere, just few 'real' electrical bits. A CdS light sensor, a few resisters under the shutter speed selector, a galvanometer and that pesky switch. I cleaned up the switch, reassembled the camera and now it works like new. And just for kicks, re calibrated the meter so it matches my hand held Sekonic meter. Now I feel calm.
