This is my longest lived graft to day. The design of the graft was not really serious. I didn't expect it to take. I laid two seedlings next to each other, the leaf end of one oriented toward the root end of the other. In other words, they were upside down relative to each other. I bent the joined stem so that the leaves would be above the ground and the root/stem connecting them would be underground.
Amazingly, the graft took, but only at one end. The root is from the albino, and the buds are from the normal plant. I'm hopeful that I can trigger the top end of the albino portion to sprout leaves. But first I'm going to build up the strength of this plant. Germination was in 2005. As of 2007, it is still doing well.
