There seems to be as many scooters, small motor bikes, as there are in Vietnam!! Maybe gas is expensive in Taiwan too!!! Here (Canada), it sits at about $1.25 a liter. There are 4 liters in the US gallon or 5 liters in the Imperial gallon. It makes us laugh when we see the Americans cry because the gas is too expansive at $3.00 per gallon !!! Oh well ... BTW, I like this image of an every day scene in Taipei.
