The Philippine Tarsier (tarsius syrichta), known locally as "Mawmag (or Maomag)" in Bohol, is an endangered tarsier species endemic to the Philippines. It's a primate related to monkeys, gorillas, lemurs and humans. Contrary to popular belief that it's the the world's "smallest monkey" or "smallest primate", Philippine Tarsier is neither a monkey nor the smallest primate.
