Started February 27th and finished May 21, 2011...A total of 225 hours.
I don't believe the more hours you put into a piece makes the painting.
I believe it takes strategy and a little bit of patience's to create an illusion of colors and shapes.... Joe Versikaitis

On Track for the Future - by Joe Versikaitis
This 14" x 16" Drawing was created from the idea of having the old locomotive riding by the aqueduct...Pretty simple really!
I spent the day sitting by the aqueduct drawing the concrete structure and then poured over many photos of old locomotives and decided on this steam engine.
This engine used to ran from the late 1920's to early 1930's

Brooks Aqueduct - 1995 - by Joe Versikaitis
Brooks Aqueduct National and Provincial Historic Site,
Not long after this Information Kiosk was built that these 11" x 14" prints were created.
The original was created by using ink and chalk pastel.

The Work Crew-1913 - by Joe Versikaitis
One of the construction crew inside the flume of the Brooks Aqueduct back in 1913., This 11" x 14" drawing was done from an image source provided by the Eastern Irrigation District.
It was done in ink by drawing small circles.
The story has it that not long after this image was taken a couple of the crew members were killed when a thunder storm swept through the area and knocked one of the scaffoldings down..
