OK, I like my new 300f4 Nikkor and splurged on the 1.7 TC

In honor of the lens buying occasion these two spoonbills let me get way wat closer than any of their bretheren had in the past!

This is handheld 500mm (35mm equivalent 750mm) with the lens wide open.
This combo is the "poor-man's 500mm Nikkor. Not to shabby I think.

Shot in Rockport Texas at a little pond on Fulton Beach Road.

Great capture of the spoonbills, we have been shooting them near Breaux Bridge, La for about a month. Strange but very photogenic creatures.
