Opened in the early 30's as a nightclub at the then south end of US 91. Then in 1942 it was rebuilt and renamed the Hotel Last Frontier. In 1955 it was renamed the New Frontier and finally returned to the "Frontier" in 1967. It had the honor of hosting Elvis Presley first appearance on the strip in 1956 and then Diana Ross last appearance with the The Supremes in the 70's.
Now the end is hours away as this shot is taken in the early morning of July 15, 2007. so much history, happiness, sorrow, good times and bad will all disappear in the coming months as the wrecking ball tears another Las Vegas Icon down.
