While traveling around the Mojave Desert near Ludlow on old jeep trails I ran across this mother raven sitting on her nest of five eggs atop a signal tower along the transcon. The milepost has been removed from the photo for the safety of the chicks.

Raven have their eggs in late February and early March and the youngsters will not be able to care for themselves till late Mat early June.
