Burnaby Mountain Fog at Sunrise

North Vancouver, B.C.

An oldie. This image was shot many years ago when we lived in Coquitlam before subsequently moving to Victoria. One Christmas-time there were three or four mornings when weather conditions were perfect for a temperature inversion over the lower mainland. This phenomena created low lying fog over Burrard Inlet with clear skies above. I dragged myself out of bed, grabbed a bunch of Kodachrome, and drove about a third of the way up Mount Seymour for a vantage point overlooking Burnaby Mountain. The sun rose (left of frame) and cast a golden light over the blanket of fog. Fifteen minutes later the light was gone, I was out of film, and I returned home to climb back under my blanket.
