It probably housed a family of 8 - 10 at one time resulting in a very small carbon footprint Now most families exude much greater carbon footprints (typically 2 adults, two kids, two pets live in a three bathroom, 4 bedroom 2000 + sq. ft. house with central air and heat and two cars (SUV's) in the garage/driveway.
