we have found two baby barn swallows that were knocked out of their nest. we didn't know they were in there when we took the nest down. it was starting to storm and the baby birds were on the ground. so my father built a nest for them and we put them in there and left them there. but it had been out there and the parents had not returned to the bird house, so we brought them in and they are now in a shoe box lined with hay. we have tried to feed them and they have taken a little of the food that we were feeding them. but we are worried that they are not eating enough and that they will die. is there any chance you have a idea about what the parents were feeding the babies in your picture? if you could tell me that would be great, we would love to save our two that we have taken in. please write me back at courtneymarie2@msn.com

We have had a next of barn swallows in our carport for the last 3 years and love them. When they leave we just clean up the mess. It is worth it to watch them. Your pictures are so good, look just like our little fellows. One was injured this year and all the siblings and adults fed and cared for it until it was flying again. We love them and think the mess is worth the joy of watching them every year.
