Brielle is an old and famous town in the southwest of Holland and although it is rather small it keeps a very famous and important place in Dutch history. It was the first Dutch town to be liberated from the Spanish occupation on April 1st 1572 and thus became a symbol and turningpoint in the "80 years war" against the Spanish. Brielle was an old seaport and has many old buildings which give you an idea of the prosperity there in the 17'th century and later. It is also the place where April's Fool started, and my birthday :-)
