Eagle feeding her baby.

I set out yesterday morning for the hundred mile drive to see the newborn Eagle family. During my entire drive, I was hoping that the babies would be big enough that I could finally get a clearer view of them in the nest.

However - to my amazement - it is now even more difficult to get a view of the babies. That is because the parent Eagles are in the process of building the sides of their nest even higher!!! Mama and Daddy spent hours yesterday stacking sticks higher & higher: to either keep the babies in, or else prying eyes out. Maybe both.

However, after spending 5 hours watching the nest, I was finally rewarded to get this shot of the female tenderly feeding her young. .

I feel so fortune to be able to witness this Eagle pair taking care of their young. These parents are extremely loving and protective of their two babies. It has been a once-in-a-lifetime photo opportunity.

I know some people might PhotoShop the branches out. But IMHO, that is major digital surgery. With wildlife photos, I leave Nature's "imperfections" in the photograph because that is the way it was in real life .

What a gorgeous shot of the mother eagle! I love the story of how the Mother begings to put shart pointed sticks in her nest, when it is time for the eaglets to leave home. We could all use some parenting tips from her! Our nests have too many soft feathers, sometimes.
