Neighboring Painesville is the county seat for Lake County, Ohio. The present City Hall building
was completed in 1852 as the original county courthouse. When a much larger courthouse was built
about one hundred years ago, this predecessor became the municipal court and eventually City Hall.
Stately and well-maintained, this property is on the National Register of Historic Places.
My visit on this occasion was to see one of my photographs that is on exhibit here through August.
It was awarded "best in show" for this year's annual city photo contest. You saw a close cousin of
that photo here as my March 3 POTW, which was an Uzi image. I returned a couple of weeks later to
retake it using my Pentax DSLR. That later version, which won the award, can be seen here.
Uzi is still a winner, though, as my October 29, 2006 POTW, an Uzi photo, won 1st place in the
"black and white" category.
