Thanks for your comments Bruce. There times that I want to get a photo in at least once for a month, that combined with trying out a new tripod and spending just a few moments outside for a photo tends to make me rush through things and not pay attention to certain details.
I don't think you need to shoot this at f22. F8 is plenty. Also, you've oversharpened the noise in the blue sky along with the moon. You might try restricting the sharpening to just the moon, and maybe try some noise reduction on the sky.
