George

Portland, Oregon

That is not George, that is the moon if anyone is confused. I took this with my new lens, listed below, and my Tamron 1.4x telextender and cropped pretty heavily. For sharpening I used a neat little script from "The Lights Right Studio." The price is right at, Free. It generates both edge masks for sharpening and surface masks for noise reduction. I think they work great. I did no noise reduction other than setting the black point. By the way, I took this hand held out my window and that is why I used ISO800. Let me know what you think.

Canon EOS 300D Digital Rebel ,Sigma 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 APO DG Macro
1/200s f/10.0 at 300.0mm + Tamron 1.4x teleconverter iso800 full exif

other sizes: small medium original auto

I used 'daylight' as it is reflected sunlight. It was pretty low in the sky accounting for the warm color. This lens on the 300D is not very good at AF, so I mostly use it on MF. With the lens hood on it is pretty easy to MF when you turn the hood making the adjustment just a little easier.

Looks very good. I have the same lens (with the red ring at the end). What WB setting did you use?
