Remains of Another Time
-----------------------------------
Euclid, Ohio is Cleveland's nextdoor neighbor, 10 miles to the east.
Through the first half of the 20th century, Euclid Beach Park was reknowned
as the "Coney Island" of the Midwest, although it was a decidedly more relaxed
and family-oriented amusement park. It survived on its charm until 1969, when
it was torn down for new lakeside development seen in the background.
I was fortunate to have visited it a couple of times before that happened.
All that remains today is this stone entryway through which millions passed.
