Gary R.

Yosemite National Park, CA

That's me...not standing on top, but in the little hole top left of center.
Called the "King's chair" by some (and probably fool's chair by others 8^),
this is atop Yosemite's Half Dome, and looks straight down from an elevation of 8800 feet to the valley's 4000 foot floor.
Whew, what a place!

Beautiful photos, Gary! I last visited there in '84, and glad to see it hasn't changed a bit, lol. Even then there's no way I'd attempt the ambitious trek you took. I seem to recall being able to drive to an observation station at the base of Half Dome for a great valley view, and that was fine with me. Definitely one of the most spectacular places on Earth!

Wow! You are a bravely foolish man ...I'm getting vertigo just looking at you. ;-)
Great shot, and one I'm sure you will treasure forever.

Now THAT's awesome!!!
You're a little small in the picture, but it looks like you're half over the edge.
