I waited for Liz to post a hawk photo so this one would have a friend, but I guess I'll go first.
This red-shouldered hawk was having a nice (?) meal atop a power pole, and is just ready to take off to who-knows-where with it. Probably to give the rest to his mate, as it's mating season.

Really great capture!!! This lovely shot is right on the money. Perfect timing. It is also a clean and crisp with good lighting. Lots of detail and interesting action. I'm impressed.

Alas, I have nothing to equal it this week. So I'm just going to have to enjoy looking at your photo.

How far out does the DCR telephoto take you? This is really nice.

One of the crispest long zoom shots I've yet seen from the FZ/Raynox combo, Gary. His meal looks a little more like scavenge than prey, but a great wildlife capture all the same. --Vic
