Young Hawk

I followed this youngster from tree to tree in an attempt to get his photo. As soon as I'd get him in my view finder, he'd take off and go to the next tree where he waited for me to follow. After 7 trees, I finally caught him!!! However, I found myself fighting back lighting by that point. That's okay. Things seemed to work out anyhow. This was an "adventure photo".

Not a Partridge in a Pear tree! But a great capture for sure!

Liz, I agree with Vic, your persistence certainly provided a great result. The hawk that a short time earlier may have been trying to avoid you now appears to be posing for you.

Excellent photo!

Your persistence paid off, Liz, not only in finally catching your quarry but doing so very artistically. The lack of background distraction really helps the shot IMO. Well done, and aren't these "adventure" photos that you have to work for really the most fun? :-)
