Very nicely done. I think you should make a photo project of this and keep posting the photos to show your progress. Who needs jewels, these are natural, sort of "organic" belly dancers. 8^)

This is a very appealing shot, Liz. The slight motion blur is great, as is the fact that you show just the bellies. Very nicely done!

I'm multi tasking here, and meant to say "Joe". Anyhow, the jewel seems to more or less, be an Americanized thing.

Bruce, I also tried a higher shutter speed. However, for this particular shot, I kind of liked the motion blur to show that the bellies were in action - not just provocatively posed.

Tony, as an answer your question, check this out: http://www.bdancer.com/med-guide/culture/navel.html

To me, it's rather strange to see belly dancers who do not have jewels, even temporary ones, in their navels. That aside, I do like the picture.

Then again, maybe you wanted to show some of the shake, rattle and roll?

You really didn't need f29 did you? You could have opened up a lot and bumped up the shutter speed and avoided the blur from the subject movement.
