One of natures less wellknown feathered oddities... All the Nature & Discovery channel watching I've done & I've never seen one of those.... Beatiful shot for my introduction to the species.... Now all you need to do is get o shot of it in-flight... LOL

With a foot like that, you only need one anyway. Good catch for what must have been a fairly low-light photo.

I've just looked it up, and it's definitely a common, or Eurasian, coot. I believe they have two feet, but as you can see here , they seem to like to use only one at a time.
