Vic Cooke

An older photo, I took this picture three years ago with my very first digicam, an Oly D460z.
The site is the historic Kinzua Viaduct in North Central Pennsylvania. This very old (1882),
long (2100') and tall (310') railroad trestle has since collapsed when a freak tornado came down the
valley in 2003! It appears unlikely it will ever be reconstructed. On this hazy Autumn day, the
sun projected the bridge's shadow three-dimensionally into the thin air, latticework and all!
It was a rare sight, and most likely one that now no one will ever witness again.

ELS--That's just another visitor walking across the trestle in my photo. For a view of the valley from trestle-top, see this photo and two that follow it:http://www.pbase.com/vbcooke/image/35457881
These are from the other side. --Vic
