If you've never been here before, this may look like an alien spaceship scene from "Close Encounters of the Third Kind."
However, if you've had occasion to travel in or out of LAX at night, it's instantly recognizable.
This futuristic structure is the flight control center at Los Angeles International Airport, and is
situated at the hub of the complex with the passenger terminal buildings surrounding it in a semi-circle.
Every few minutes the color of the lighting changes, although the central "command pod" remains a irridescent blue. Quite captivating!
I took this long-exposure shot by propping the Uzi on a fencepost and waiting for a "hole" in the traffic streaming past.
I also took some showing headlight/taillight streaks of passing cars, but preferred this.

Silly me again, I wrote my comment before I even read what you wrote, and you already identified it as C.E., but rightfully so.

When I lived down there, this place was a restaurant. Hmmm... what next?

This came out really well, nicely exposed. I'm not so sure about a hole that big in LA traffic though; I've heard such a thing has been known to exist, but always categorized it with Bigfoot and frozen space aliens. 8^)
