Katherine - The Forest Primeval

This spot has probably not changed much from what it looked like one hundred years ago. I hope it looks similar in another hundred. Actually the spot from which I took this only became accessible (physically {see http://www.pbase.com/image/34572259 } and legally) just within the last couple of years due to increased development along the Cape Fear River. Areas like this are now prime for development and will soon be someone's backyard.

wow..eerie..mesmerizing..mysterious... I've got to go to that area to take some photos before it gets developed. If you could message me and tell me exactly where it is located, I would be so appreciative. thank you!

Stunning shot, Katherine! You've done a fantastic job of capturing the MOOD of the place.
Quite haunting; almost spooky. Bravo!

This is an awesome photo of a place that probably will look totally different in another 100 years. I love it!

Fantastic. I especially like the color on the plants on the left. Makes the b&w even more surreal. Exceptional!
