This is the red brick front porch of an 18th century plantation I recently discovered while exploring an inland county. This surviving plantation was built in the late 1700's. It backs up to the Upper Cape Fear River. When I drove up, one of the workers allowed me to walk around and take pictures, even though it's privately owned by someone who only comes in the winter and uses it as a hunting lodge.
