I love this, reminds of being a little girl and watching my mother paint ships on canvas :) That was her favorite medium for awhile.

What brand scanner? I had to slightly "modify" mine so I could clean the bottom of the glass.

I took this photo. Sorry I didn't know how to provide a better caption or explanation.
My first upload (here).
This was taken by me from my sailboat. I used a 20 year old Nikon L35 AF (autofocus 35 mm with 200 ASI). I'm too lazy to go find out more about the lens now. Its not an SLR.
I did scan it from a print, and yes my scanner prolly could use a good cleaning.

Was this a scan of a travel magazine? The scanner glass could have used a good cleaning.
Too many smears on the glass. Perhaps we can pull a finger print and find the identity of the poster.

Great beginning. I would crop to remove some of the photo along the right side, then process in levels or curves to increase the contrast. This has the makings of a fabulous shot.
