Vic Cooke

Doyle Road Bridge near Jefferson, Ohio
~~~~~~~~~~~~
The “snowbelt” region of Ohio is a prime area for winter snowscapes, and we had plenty
of “lake effect” squall activity last week to set the stage. Lured by a sunny day,
I grabbed my Uzi and set out for the countryside. Although it was bitter-cold all day,
it turned out to be a very rewarding trip for photographs, and this one is among my
favorites taken during the excursion.
This is a beautiful shot! Sitting here near Cincinnati, now in the 80's with high humindity, this scene is very refreshing. Great composition and excellent exposure for the snow.
This is such a beautiful picture. I do hope scenes like this are behind us for this year!
There are about 150 covered bridges in Ohio, John. They are spread over a larger area than NH, though, so I'll never get them all! There are 15 within easy proximity that I've photographed which you might enjoy viewing in this album: <A HREFhttp://www.pbase.com/vbcooke/coveredbridges I needed some winter shots like this to add to the mix!
Love your covered bridge shot. Covered bridges are a passion of mine. Do you have many in Ohio?
I have attempted to shoot all the bridges here in New Hampshire (about 60 in all), I have about 10 to go.
And I see you used the +exposure, which is why the snow looks soooo, well, white!
Very nice picture.
