Anemone in a tidepool near Mavericks on the San Mateo Coast.

CP filter used to eliminate reflection. As I was trying to get this shot, my partner was yelling, karen .... kaREN .... KAREN, which I was able to tune out in order to focus on snapping the shutter. About 1.28 seconds after this image was taken, the wash from a mini-rogue wave came splashing over this shelf (and the anemone), sending me hotfooting it to safety. Ah, the drama! So this image is really the calm before the storm.

Yep, Gary, you're right - we were in that long line of traffic. Felt like I spent the whole day driving!

Good photo Karen, with some great detail. Judging from the traffic I saw going to Half Moon Bay that day, you were probably in one of the cars in the long line I passed going the other way into SF. I knew I sensed another uzi around somewhere...8^)

Good job Karen! I love the colours. The green to purple transition on the tentacles (or whatever they're called) is awesome. You just can't beat Mother Nature's palette. Thanks for sharing.
