The Island in the picture with the spanner (wrench) depicts Diego Garcia CAC-15's initial Desert Storm in chop brief destination and where the crew left their maintenance support for one month. CAC-15 pushed into the Persian Gulf and operated out of Masirah Oman. They flew to Kuwait City Harbour area every day until the hostilities ended. The P3 aircraft left Masirah went to Fujirah UAE to get a full bag of fuel and then headed to Kuwait. UAE aviation fuel was at no cost. Only about 15 of these patches were made for the aircrew and for the maintenance folks left behind in Diego Garcia.

This patch was for VP-91 Combat Aircrew 15 Desert Storm 1991. The crew flew from Masirah Island Oman Feb 1991 and provided targeting and combat support to coalition forces. On the 14th of February CAC 15 located and targeted 2 large Iraqi gunboats coming out of the harbor in Kuwait. These vessels were tracked and mapped through the Iraqi laid minefields and 2 A6 Intruder aircraft called in to assist in there subsequent destruction. There were other notable events CAC15 were involved in. VP-91 CAC15 were the only fixed wing U.S. Naval Reserve squadron to directly engage the enemy in combat during Desert
Storm.
